Cassandra Monique Batie known professionally as Andra Day is an American R&B and soul vocalist actor and songwriter. She is the recipient of numerous awards such as an Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nominations for an Academy Award. Andra Days is a strong singer who can also write beautifully. In addition, she is an expert in the throwback genre of R&B Her musical origins are in gospel jazz and blues.
